Dance

The Dance program at ChiArts offers instruction at the highest professional level. The professional experience of the faculty, guest artists and choreographers will allow all students to experience a variety of dance styles from classical to post-modern. Particular emphasis will be on placing students in performance opportunities around metropolitan Chicago to help them gain performance experience.

The program’s mission is to prepare students for admission into competitive college/university programs and professional companies. The dance division will enable students to develop as highly versatile technicians, becoming equally proficient in ballet, modern, contemporary and other techniques. It is the belief of the school that all dancers must be skilled in a variety of dance forms to compete in today's professional dance world.

Students of all abilities may audition for admission into the dance program. ChiArts recognizes the need to provide opportunities for students who have had prior instruction in dance, as well as students who have not had prior training but demonstrate a strong natural ability and a desire to learn.
