We are ChiArts. Chicago's first public arts high school.
The Chicago High School for the Arts (ChiArts®) develops the next generation of diverse, artistically promising scholar-artists through intensive pre-professional training in the arts, combined with a comprehensive college preparatory curriculum.
Join our virtual event on May 19 to give a Standing Ovation to our scholar-artists for their hard work, to the tireless dedication of our teachers and staff, and to our honorees Jim and Kay Mabie for their impact! A donation, in any amount, includes an invite to the virtual event. All proceeds support our five arts conservatories.
Watch a virtual showcase! FreeVerse features the most recent work from our five conservatories in one virtual production. As all 2020-2021 performances are online, there will be seven FreeVerse productions spread throughout the school year.
Our Music Conservatory is thrilled to announce it's first place championship in Class A at the Illinois High School Association's Solo and Ensemble Competition for the third year in a row. ChiArts placed #1 in Band, #2 in Orchestra, and #3 in Voice, a three-peat!
Our annual three-week virtual summer camp is designed for students in grades 2-5 and 6-8 to explore the artistic disciplines of Band, Creative Writing, Dance, Music, Theatre, and Visual Arts. Led by our very own teaching artists and alumni, campers will receive pre-professional training in the arts and create original pieces.
ChiArts alumni are pioneers. From millions of plays on Spotify, to touring with a dance company, to publishing their writing, to making art that challenges, to entertaining us on stage and screen, they are blazing new pathways in the arts. ChiArts alumni are also scientists, educators, entrepreneurs, and change-makers!
