Sources of Funding
The pie chart below breaks down the various sources of our revenue.
About 78% of our funding comes from public sources, which includes city, state, and federal funds. These funds are mostly determined by the number of students we have and our student poverty index. This public funding covers ChiArts’ standard academic programs. The ChiArts Foundation, our philanthropic partner, raises money through fundraising and special events. This accounts for 20% of our school’s budget and supports ChiArts’ pre-professional arts programs. We also receive a small portion of our funding from student fees and other miscellaneous sources.
